3 people killed in head-on truck crash

On Behalf of | Jul 27, 2023 | Automobile Accident

Commercial vehicles are involved in thousands of accidents every year across the country. Major interstate highways traverse Ohio, and tractor-trailers are a common sight on these roadways. With tractor-trailers and passenger cars sharing the same roadways, accidents are bound to happen. Unfortunately, due to their sheer size, accidents involving big rigs are often serious or fatal.

Accident details

Recently near Cambridge, three people were killed after their vehicle was hit head-on by a tractor-trailer. The accident happened around 6 a.m. on Interstate 70 in Guernsey County. According to accident reports, a westbound tractor-trailer passed through the median and crashed into an eastbound sedan.

The sedan was occupied by a father and his two daughters. Tragically, all three were killed in the crash. Reportedly, the tractor-trailer driver suffered minor injuries. Police said the eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed for hours, resulting in a miles-long traffic backup.

Help in the aftermath of a crash

Not all drivers will be safe and careful behind the wheel. It is impossible to predict the actions of other drivers and, likewise, it is impossible to predict when a fatal accident will happen. When people in Ohio are injured or killed at the hands of a negligent driver, victims and surviving families of deceased victims can get help by contacting an experienced attorney. Damages from a successfully litigated lawsuit could replace lost wages and help ease the pain and suffering associated with a traumatic accident.
